Overview & Highlights
Jambiani Beach is a serene 7-kilometer ribbon of talcum-white sand and swaying coconut palms just south of Paje on Zanzibar's southeastern shore. Unlike resort enclaves, Jambiani is an authentic, living Swahili fishing village where outrigger canoes ('ngalawa') launch at dawn for the barrier reef, women tend geometric rows of seaweed stakes at low tide, and intimate boutique eco-lodges blend seamlessly into the coastline. Nearby Kuza Cave offers a crystal-clear subterranean freshwater limestone sinkhole for afternoon swims.
